Biography
Patrick Tschäppät is a musician, composer and producer based in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland.
He studied film music, as well as composition in electronic and classical music at the Sound Arts department at the University of the Arts Berne (Switzerland) and film music at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf in Potsdam (Berlin, Germany). He studied with film composers Peter Scherer, Peter Gromer, Ulrich Reuter and Karim Sebastian Elias.
He graduated in 2019 and since then, he has written music for several short films and other audiovisual projects. Some of these had been shown at the Shortcutz Berlin, Berlin Independent Film Festival, Shortfilm Slam Hamburg, the Filmfest Dresden and Filmz – Festival des deutschen Kinos in Germany, the Au Contraire Film Festival in Canada, the Zlìn Film Festival in the Czech Republic, the Taratsa International Film Festival in Greece, the boyOHboy Film Festival Paris in France, and the Swiss festivals Solothurner Filmtage, Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur and Festival International de Films de Fribourg.
He co-wrote music for a part of an exhibition based on Big Data for the Museum of Communication in Bern, Switzerland. It has been running since 2016.
As a guitarist, he works live and in the studio. Mostly, he plays Pop, Rock and Blues. Among other artists, he is currently playing with Fernando von Arb (Krokus).
